It's always the same scene: The teacher enlightens the young students who quietly sit at their desks mesmerized by the great tutor's charisma and vast knowledge (he's usually played by Robin Williams or maybe - in older films - Spencer Tracy)

And what a mighty BIG knowledge that is... and not only what's found in books! Usually this titan of a man is also a war veteran, a top athlete, a fully trained nurse and soother-of-souls, and more of a ladies man than Errol Flynn and Sean Connery in a red sports car with a trunk full of mink overcoats. No wonder the youth listen to him! He is a regular fountain of facts, endlessly spurting out insightfulness garnished with witty anecdotes and shrewd observations.





Ah yes; the movies...
